The Rain Did Not Stop the Plan

It’s raining outside. Pretty hard. But that did not stop me from following plan this morning. I had my Shakeology. I did my stretching. And a purchase I just made paid off.

I’d bought some light dumbbells and a stand so I could do workouts in my condo instead of the gym. I put the stand together and set it up. Perfect timing. Today was Power Ignite, and the heaviest dumbbells it needs are 20’s — which I now have on the stand. It was pouring outside. So I pivoted to a workout in the condo.

My chest is sore from Wednesday. The glutes will probably kick in Sunday or Monday from yesterday. But I love Power Ignite. Largely because it mostly feels like training for golf. Dumbbell swings with the 20’s, keeping the core tight and swinging from the glutes, the arms and hands locked to the dumbbells and just going for a ride. And finishing with a 10 pound dumbbell held tight, swinging from the core and the legs, up and around. It feels like it’s making my golf swing more powerful from the core and the ground up. That motivates me to push. I pushed hard and it felt great.

No golf today. The hurricane is causing major rain here this weekend. So after the workout and my normal magic time with a Tabak Especial Toro Dulce, I’m catching up on finance podcasts to get some differing macro views for my coast2coastfinancial.com writing. This afternoon it’s football, and maybe a trip to the cigar lounge to watch it there and get some good conversation in.

Tomorrow is Dynamic Recovery to close out week 1 of #mbf, and I’m excited for it. I’m excited for the slow stretch recovery day. My body needs it so I can push hard during week 2 and lift heavier.

It’ll be restful yet productive. Balanced.

Day six is in the books.
