The workout’s not done until the shake is

My mornings run on the same sequence every day. After the workout comes the protein shake. Three pieces of gear make the shakes easy enough that I never skip them, at home, on the golf course, or on the road.

Post-workout: Vega Protein + Creatine (Chocolate)

This is my after-workout shake: 30 grams of plant protein plus 3 grams of creatine per serving. I shake it up in a BlenderBottle right after I finish.

Full honesty: my recovery drink changes with the Ramp. Right now it’s this shake. When I switch, I’ll update this page.

At home: Ninja Blast cordless blender (BC151BK)

I keep one of these at both homes, PA and North Myrtle Beach. It’s a single-serve, 18 oz cordless blender, and it’s what I blend my morning and evening shake in with milk and ice.

On the road and the golf course: BlenderBottle Classic V2 (20 oz)

The BlenderBottle is the travel rig. It goes in the golf bag and the suitcase, and it’s what I mix my protein and my pre-workout in. Any color works. You can switch colors on the listing.

The insulated ones: BlenderBottle Radian (26 oz) and Strada (24 oz)

I also own both of BlenderBottle’s insulated stainless steel shakers: the white screw-cap Radian and the black push-button Strada. Same wire whisk, same job, but double-wall insulated, so the shake stays cold in the car or the golf bag. The Radian listing lets you pick a color. The Strada is sold on Amazon under the name Sport Flip.

Measuring the Ramp: Slimpal scale and tape

I don’t live on the scale. On Ramp Day 1 I take full measurements with a Slimpal scale (weight, body fat, and more) and a Slimpal measuring tape, then check weekly through the holidays.

For 9 Week Control Freak: the Control Track (BODi)

At home in PA, I have my home gym with a TV to play the BODi workouts, bands and loops, and my Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells (5 to 52.5 pounds each), the SelectTech kettlebell and the stand, which are perfect for BODi workouts. I bought those from Bowflex over 15 years ago and still use them. The Bowflex SelectTech 552s (Paid Link) are the current version of the same dumbbell. Mine are the older model, but it’s the same adjustable idea. The light set I just bought for the condo in North Myrtle Beach has its own page. I also have a pull-up bar over my door and the 9 Week Control Freak Control Track set up over my mirrors.
